If you're finding it hard to get sharp photos from your camera, fear not, your camera and lens is probably fine, what you need to do is improve your shooting technique. Below are some tips on taking sharp photos:
- Use a tripod if you need to use a low shutterspeed.
- Use shutterspeeds no lower than 1/30 if hand-held. (Really stead hands might be able to handle 1/10, but that's very rare)
- Take a deep breath just before pressing the shutter release button.
- Use surfaces in the environment to support your camera should you not have tripod handy. (e.g.: walls, tables, stone slabs make great support surfaces)
- Use flash in low light conditions when a tripod is not available.
- Use a bigger aperture(F) number to increase depth of field. This ensures sharpness throughout the photo.
- Get a high end lens with good optics if budget permits.
- Attach a battery grip if you find it difficult to take sharp photos when shooting vertically.
- Make sure your subject is properly focused, check your camera focus point and make sure it's on your desired subject.
I hope the tips were helpful for you, remember to practice, practice, practice!!
